Lugging clothes in a rain/snow/mix isn’t fun for anyone!

More time to DeClutter For Good!

Let me know if you need to make alternative arrangements.

I am hoping to deliver the donations to Cradles to Crayons on Friday!

And, as always, thanks for passing… the word along…

****************WEATHER ALERT*****************

Sadly, the critical need for warm children’s clothing in our state continues to grow. Currently, 305,000 children in our state our in need. Cradles to Crayons, an organization I have worked with several times now, has an incredibly efficient system in place to help children state-wide through 400+ service organizations (including those I have worked with like Cornerstones Ipswich and Gloucester’s Wellspring House). Both of these wonderful, local organizations have told me personally how much their ability to easily reach out to Cradles to Crayons for a kid-pack for a child in need means to them. Just think of the time that frees up from their amazingly tough schedules as they work on limited funds trying to help families to improve their circumstances on so many levels.

Combining these facts together with my need to focus on moving Time Well Spent closer to launch, I’ve decided to start the year with a repeat DeClutter For Good donation drive focus for January – warm children’s clothing for Cradles to Crayons. While the many coat drives that often occur are wonderful, often the needs for appropriate winter clothing beyond coats goes unmet.

Click here to read a moving guest post about a child receiving their kidpack from C2C! It’s written by Christine McCall, an Americorps worker who  I was lucky to work with during her time at C2C. Here’s a picture of Christine and me during one of my donation delivery runs to Cradles to Crayons during the summer 0f 2009:

Here I am with Christine McCall, my contact at C2C. This is from the baby drive in the spring. C2C is always in need of baby equipment, clothes and toys. It's there most challenging category when it comes to meeting the great demand.
